Do you struggle to make time for yourself? When was the last time you truly made time for self-care? As women, we tend to always put ourselves last. But in the long run, if you don’t take time to fill up your own cup, you won’t have anything left to give to those around you. I have learned that self-care can be in small increments of time because the best self-care happens on a regular basis. Let’s challenge ourselves to choose one of the self-care ideas each day this week to implement.
Ultimate List of Self-Care Ideas
- Enjoy a Slow Morning – Lately I have been spending the last 10 minutes of my morning relaxing on my back patio drinking my coffee. It is so relaxing and gets me in the right mindset for the day.
- Take a Bath – Throw some bath salts into a bath and enjoy a glass of wine for the perfect ending to a day.
- Get Moving – Go for an evening walk to take in the fresh air, go to an exercise class, or do yoga in your living room.
- Read a Book – I love waking up on a Saturday morning and reading my book on my patio with coffee in hand. Reading before bed also helps me unwind if I have had a stressful day.
- Gardening – I enjoy seeing fresh flowers in my home and on my patio. Recently I picked out some new flowers and spent the evening planting them and placing them on my patio.
- Create a Bucket List – What is it that you are wanting to do in the next year? Or in the next 5 years? Plan it out and dream of making each item on your list happen.
- Plan Your Dream Vacation – Even if you don’t go on it for a while, it is still fun to imagine sunbathing on a boat in Positano.
- Experiment With a New Makeup Look – Open YouTube, find a tutorial, and experiment with a new makeup look.
- Be Selfish – Remind yourself that it’s OK to prioritize yourself and your own needs sometimes.
- Journal – Spending time writing down your feelings thoughts helps you to relieve stress and anxiety.
- Write Down What You Are Grateful for – Reflect on what you are grateful for and write it down.
- Light a Candle or Turn on Your Diffuser – Whatever you do to activate your scent, do it. Find the scent that gives you a feeling of happiness.
- Watch the Sunrise / Sunset – So much beauty in enjoying God’s creation.
- Take a Nap – Sometimes this is just what the doctor orders as a good nap can refresh you.
- Stargaze – One of my favorite ways to enjoy the evening is to lay outdoors and enjoy the stars.
- Snuggle or Play with Your Pet – This makes my heart so happy as I love snuggling with my cats.
- Declutter and Organize Your Home – One of my favorite ways to de-stress is to de-clutter.
- Dance to Music – Let loose in the kitchen and dance to your favorite playlist.
- Cook Your Favorite Food – What is your favorite thing to cook? Dinner? Dessert? Enjoy cooking it with some music playing.
- Pamper Yourself – Give yourself a pedicure or manicure. Do that face mask you have been meaning to do.
- Movie/Netflix Night – Enjoy a night in with no agenda but binging shows on your couch.
- Make A List Of Things You Love About Yourself. Self-love is self-care. Give yourself a compliment.
- Brain Dump – Dump everything you have allowed to cloud your brain into a journal. Get it all out, so it is not floating around in your brain.
- Unplug from Social Media – Take a few hours off from social media because it is a good detox.
- Listen To Your Favorite Podcast – Enjoy your favorite podcast while doing something you love.
- Drink More Water – Drinking water is SO good for you, so make it a point to drink more. Buy yourself a cute cup to enjoy your water in or Infuse your water with fresh fruits.
- Sleep In – On the weekends, I tend to not let myself sleep in anymore. Even if you aren’t sleeping, stay in bed later enjoying the time of rest.
- Find Time For Your Hobby – Make time for ya hobby such as reading or puzzles. Getting to enjoy what you love can be so refreshing for you.
- Call An Old Friend – A good girl chat is good for the soul.
- Do Absolutely Nothing – Find joy in the stillness.
